Late period after MAP - negative tests

Hi, sorry for the long post,

I’m just looking to see if anyone has had anything similar happen; the first day of my last period was 30/03/2024 and I had UPS on 21/04/2024. According to Flo app, my day of ovulation was 22/04/2024. I should mention my cycles range from 37-49 days so this ovulation date is probably incorrect as it predicted my period would start on CD38 (I’ve had a number of tests and scans done due to ovarian cysts and such irregular cycles and came off the pill around 3 years ago because it started to not agree with me)

I panicked so took the MAP (EllaOne) the day after UPS and took a test on 08/05/2024 which was negative. I tested again yesterday and today with FMU and both were BFN. My app is saying I’m now 3 days late (CD46) and the pharmacist told me to test 3 weeks after taking MAP.

Is there any way the MAP has failed as I would have thought if I was pregnant it would show by now or I would at least be having some symptoms? TIA x

EllaOne will usually disrupt your period, generally delaying it by about a week. If you are confident that you took it before you ovulated, the chances are that it has worked, but you do need to wait 3 weeks after last UPSI to do a pregnancy test.

Sorry, have just seen you are over 3 weeks now. If you tested at least 3 weeks after and it was negative, it’s negative. Your period is probably just late due to the EllaOne, it’s a huge dose of hormones in one go!

Thanks so much for the reply - I’ve never taken EllaOne before but have heard it can delay up to 7 days so I guess I’ll just be playing a waiting game for AF! X

Hey, I took ellaone last July and I ended up being 32 days late! I posted on here about it and one lady said she was 12 weeks late 😧😧 I'll be honest it's taken a while for my cycles to get back into the swing of things x

Wow what that’s crazy!! My cycles are irregular anyway I think the longest cycle I had was 63 days and that was with no EllaOne 😂😂

Update: my period came today, 4 days late but better late than never in my case🥳
