Early pregnancy worries

Hi all, found out on Friday I’m pregnant. It was a surprise due to my age I didn’t think it was likely (in perimenopause). Plus I have a history of recurring miscarriage.

Im probably over worrying but the line progression on these last 2 tests dont seem to have changed much. I think I’m about 4 weeks. Period was due Friday on a 24 day cycle.

Also been getting on and off mild cramps. Not painful just like a dull cramp and twinge here and there. Today it’s just felt more achey.. does that seem normal?

No bleeding and I’ve just started on progesterone which I’ve been prescribed.

thanks for looking xx

Congratulations I felt the same when I found out as I was 39 I didn’t think it was going to happen. I think they are good lines but I would stop testing now if you can and try and relax I know it’s easier said than done. Cramps and twinges are normal at this stage as long as they don’t become painful and no bleeding.
Good luck and hope all goes well with your pregnancy.

Hi I'm looking for any advice at all. I found out I was pregnant 10 days ago, 3 days ago I started bleeding. It started off red then brown, then red again then brown. Still bleeding today, I have an ultrasound tomorrow but I'm worried sick. Any opinions, or anyone had any problems like this and still had a normal pregnancy?

Hoping77 · 13/05/2024 22:57

@Jodiem89 there will be women who have bled and gone on to have a healthy baby and others where it’s led to a miscarriage.
Do you have any cramping?
Personally I’ve had pregnancies where I’ve bled then they ended in a miscarriage but my daughter who is almost 5 now started as very early bleeding, I took progesterone and the bleeding stopped luckily!
But it’s not the same for everyone. The fact is that ‘sometimes’ bleeding will be a precursor to a miscarriage and sometimes it won’t.
you're doing everything you can by getting is checked, try to get some rest. I really hope you get some good news tomorrow x

I'm exactly the same, got bfp on Sunday after a mc in January. I just feel like I can't get excited as my last to pregnancies have ended in mc. With my DD I had none of this and even told people early and now I just think how naive I was.

I'm hoping this time it is a good outcome and got everything crossed for you too

Hoping77 · 14/05/2024 19:17

@YYY-85 congratulations! I’m convincing myself that it’s all going to end and I’ve wasted everyone’s time. My GP called me yesterday saying they have signed over my anti-natal care to the hospital I was at for my miscarriage treatment. I felt like saying ‘Slow down please don’t bother it will all be gone soon’
Im still getting plenty of mild cramps and aches on and off. I’m going to test again in the morning (last test was Monday) and if it’s lighter or the same then I think I’ll be more certain it’s going to end.

Really hope it all turns out well for you too x

@Hoping77 I know exactly what you mean. I've got my first appointment next week with the miscarriage clinic but not sure what to do now as they might not see me.

I've ordered some clear blue dating test so I'll just see how they go.
