hi guys! so im 25 and im pregnant with my second pregnancy but i miscarried baby number 1 so i went for my scan Friday the doctor thought i was 14 weeks but in my scan i measured to 8 weeks but they couldn't find a heart beat so I'm just wondering has this happened to anyone else and they found a beat a few scans later? i have to go back to the EPU tomorrow for another scan and im quite nervous.

I'm sorry you are going through this. Do you know why they would have thought you were 14 weeks initially?
I will be honest, if you are measuring 8 weeks you would definitely be able to see a heartbeat at this stage, so it's possible you may of have had a MMC which is probably not want you want to hear.

so very sorry but it does sound like a MMC. Even if you had got your dates 6 weeks out, which can happen, you should be able to see a heartbeat at the size baby is. I'll cross my fingers and send all the good vibes ahead of your next scan, because stranger things have happened, but it doesn't sound like good news.

I have had multiple miscarriages myself including two MMCs and it really is so awful. Even the hope is hard to bear. So sorry you are going through this. Gentle hugs to you.

So update: i went back today and the baby was measuring less than it was on Friday and no heart beat so they’ve classed it as a miscarriage. Thanks for all advice xx

So sorry for your loss. There are no words but I hope you have good support around you. Are you in Scotland by any chance?

I'd been going to recommend the Baby Loss Retreat charity but they're only Scotland I think. I got support from them a while ago. Hope there is something similar for you if you want any support too. Take things a moment at a time for now. Flowers
