How long did you wait before trying for a second baby ?
E.g how old was your LO when you decided to try or how old were they when the second was born ?

Thank you

DD was 2.5 before we decided we wanted another.

I had just started a new job so waited until she was 2 years 9 months to start trying so I would get mat pay.

DD1 was 3 years 7 months when DD2 was born. For us is been a good gap. If I had to do it all again I probably would have gone with a slightly smaller gap, nearer 3 years. I definitely wouldn't have left it longer as I was already 36. It's a really individual choice x

Our first was 15 months when we decided to try for our second. We thought it might take a while but I got pregnant that very month. I'm so glad I did because it was a perfect gap in my experience. My kids were so close growing up and still are as adults. I wouldn't have changed a thing.

My DS is 13 months old and I have just stopped the mini pill and we are going to try from next month. It took us 8 cycles and a mmc to conceive DS, so who knows how it will go this time.

Almost exactly two years between my two. I’d have liked to have tried earlier, but periods didn’t return until eldest was 15 months. Glad we have this age gap though, as it’s great! Hoping for periods to come back again now as would like to number three, if it’s possible. 🙏

My first and second are 3 years 1 month apart. It's worked really well in that they have each had separate 1:1 time with me (DD started full time pre school when DS was born) but they are still close enough in age to enjoy playing with eachother and most family days out and holidays suit both their needs. Pregnant with third baby now and the age gap will be 9 years and 6 years. Whilst it's totally different to how things were before, I like the ideal that this baby will get lots of 1:1 time with me but also be doted on by older siblings. I'm sure it will have good and bad sides to it but everyone in the family is so excited to meet him and I'm hoping it will be an easier change to adapt to than 2 close together.

DD1 and DD2 are 16 months apart. I'm expecting DD3 in June and there will also be 16 months between her and DD2. So I conceived 8 months PP with DD2 and DD3 😊

There will be a 4 year 3 month age gap between mine

I did want a 3 year age gap, but I had HG with my first pregnancy and wasn't sure if I could do it again - but knew if I was going to do it again I would have to wait until DS was in nursery school as I would be incapable of looking after him all day whilst pregnant with HG.

He will start full time school in September and baby is due 21st September so I'm looking forward to being able to have some 1 to 1 time with baby

We started just after our LO’s 3rd birthday - we don’t have any (or very minimal) help and financially needed to ensure that the childcare offer was in place for LO. Also felt ‘ready’ and really wanted another 😀

DD was 12 months when we started trying last July. I was 40 then so didn’t have much choice but to get going. We waited until 12 months because I’d had a c-section (no complications). I fell pregnant last November but it was anembryonic and I had to have surgery. I’m now just over 7 weeks pregnant, I think, and hoping this one sticks. Due end Dec. DD will be exactly 2.5, and thinking about it, that’s a gap I think we can cope with better. They’ll both be in nursery at the same time but if the new funded childcare system doesn’t get scrapped we’ll be no worse off than we are now. 🤷🏽‍♀️

There will be 2 years between mine, currently pregnant with no.2 so no idea what it's going to be like but always wanted a fairly small age gap.

DD is 21 months and we have just started trying for number 2 :)
