Will this harm the baby?

Hi!
I'm a migraine sufferer. I'm 6/7 weeks pregnant, but I've had a nightmare migraine all day today, and have been unable to keep any food or water down.
Will this harm my baby/increase probability of miscarriage?
Can one day without food or water do serious damage?

Thanks!

No I think it's fine OP, have had HG with both pregnancies and spent many days eating nothing or just drinking Diet Coke etc... speak to your doctor though as soon as you can to see if there's anything they can give you / for some actual medical reassurance

Not for one day. Some women throw up everything for weeks and their babies are fine. Obviously seek advice from midwife / GP if it goes on a long time. if anything could cause a pregnancy to end, it would be well known.

No, a single day will make no difference. Bear in mind there are women with hyperemesis who go through their entire pregnancy profusely vomiting and repeatedly being admitted to hospital for treatment of dehydration, and most of their babies still do just fine. Babies are resilient little things.
Just make sure you make a point of refuelling/rehydrating tomorrow if you're feeling better, and if it's ongoing and you're concerned you're becoming dehydrated then make sure you see a doctor.
I hope tomorrow is a better day.

No, I suffered migraines through to the third trimester and some days didn't eat or just chugged Starbucks iced espressos as they helped. Two perfect little babies each time. If they continue go to your GP (and keep doing so) as there is medication you can take if needed.
