Blood when I wiped, 36 weeks

I lost my mucus plug in two large pieces last week, I’ve just been to the toilet now and when I’ve wiped I’ve had this tiny amount of blood along with a bit of mucus. Could this be start of bloody show?

Would you call triage or just wait and see if I get any more? Obviously with me not being full term yet and when I last went in with tightenings they said to call if I get any bleeding. But not sure if such a tiny amount counts? 😅 sorry for the tmi pic!

I don't think I'd call triage for that! Only if it increased or you started getting tightenings.

PoppingTomorrow · 12/05/2024 16:35

I'd call. They can tell you if it's nothing.

Maybe wait and see if there's more? Can you feel baby moving?

Mamalog · 12/05/2024 16:38

Baby is moving still! I’ve popped a pad on so will just wait and see if I get any more. I have mild period type pains so if those get more intense I think I might ring them

I thought bleeding could be a sign of placental abruption. I’d get checked out at the hospital ( presumably you can go straight to the maternity department)?

Overthebow · 12/05/2024 16:40

I would call triage and see what they think. Better to be safe then sorry.

Mamalog · 12/05/2024 16:41

@Rainydayinlondon well that’s what I thought but I assumed it would be more bright red bleeding rather than dark red/mucus type in such a small amount… I have no severe pains or anything 🫣

Think if you've lost the plug you're starting labour and it is the start if the show. Remember it can be hours after that established labour kicks in. But no harm in ringing your MW.

Looks like a bit more plug x

If you have any concerns my midwives always said to call them.
