I've got two slipped discs in my back and I'm only 7 weeks pregnant, had a scan 2 days ago and everything's fine with baby, but I'm having so much back pain and I can't take anything for it, anyone had slipped disc and been pregnant? What helped?

You can take pain relief
and also speak to a pregnancy physio for exercises post 12 weeks

I’m 20 weeks now & am recovering from a slipped disc - the peak of my pain was over the first trimester but I’m feeling almost back to normal now.

I see an Osteopath weekly (safe to do this in pregnancy just make sure you let them know) & it’s really helped. My Osteo can treat me the whole way through the pregnancy as well which is reassuring in case it gets worse again.

In terms of pain relief, I had been taking ibuprofen but stopped when I found out I was pregnant - tbh I just had to grit my teeth and get through it. I rested a lot and was able to wfh.

I forgot to mention it to my midwife at my booking in appt but did at my 16 week appt and she offered to refer me to NHS Physio but I was happy sticking with what I was already doing. She didn’t seem overly concerned but just said keep an eye on it and be extra careful about lifting things a ligaments get softer as pregnancy progresses.

Hope you recover soon & congratulations on your pregnancy x
