Hi all,

I have ordered some internet cheapies so I will test when they arrive tonight but I can’t get it out of my mind!

I already have 2 beautiful children, secure job and my own home so wouldn’t be the end of the world if I was pregnant.

Im just not sure wether it’s excess weight and I need to change eating habits and hit the gym! Or wether it’s bloating and a potential health problem?

i went on holiday recently and I know I missed 2 of my pill whilst away, I did have a short period last weekend which lasted about 3 days and I don’t recall feeling the usual tummy aches and pains and I weren’t as tired and exhausted as I usually am. I am not due another period now for around 2 weeks.

I don’t really get on with parents so have no one else to get this of my chest with!

what does this photo look like to you? Pregnant? Fat? Something else?

for reference I am 32 and about 5’3 in height. I weigh around 8.5 stone. Generally fit and healthy, always maintained the same weight.

thank you in advance xx

What is your diet/alcohol consumption like? Also is it larger at the end of the day than first thing in the morning? Only asking because I looked like that. I was convinced when I went for a laparoscopic investigation (not for the bloating) that they would find cancer or something, I looked several months pregnant.
Nope. Just too much wine and sugar in general. Once I overhauled my diet and gave up alcohol it went down completely.
That said, if you are concerned you need to speak to a GP.

I would guess bloating. Often on holiday our patterns of eating and drinking change and it can really mess you up (esp if hot weather too)

Mumofto · 09/05/2024 14:36

Thanks both.

I don’t drink alcohol usually, did have a couple of cocktails whilst on holiday which was about 5 weeks ago.

My diet is pretty good. Very rarely drink fizzy drinks. I’ll make an apt with gp.

thank you

Sorry just to add yes it is larger at the end of the day

If you got pregnant 2 months ago the foetus would be the size of a raspberry so I don’t think you’d be showing yet. I think if you were pregnant and showing you would be around 20w, is that likely?

Revelatio · 09/05/2024 14:41

Just to add, this looks like my belly, and I’m not pregnant. Although a child recently asked if I was, which was pretty mortifying!!

Mumofto · 09/05/2024 14:45

I’m waiting for a child to ask me too! I work in a school so highly likely they’re going to ask 😂 I’m really unsure… I do take the Microgynon pill… but have done since I was about 14, and fell pregnant with both my other 2 whilst taking the pill.

I did take a test around Christmas time as period was irregular but it came back negative. Had normal periods since and thought nothing of it.

I’ve had no symptoms which I think I would have by now if I was 20 weeks. Stomach has been a bit uncomfortable and crampy but that could be bloating. Also had a few headaches but nothing out of the ordinary and have been feeling a bit sickly the past few days.

Well the only way to know is to take a test... then you won't have to guess. But I can look like this when bloated , pregnant or non pregnant

Mumofto · 09/05/2024 16:32

@Elisabeth3468 thank you. I’ll test once cheapies arrive.

I have been reading dr Google - I know I shouldn’t. But symptoms sound similar to IBS too. I think a trip to gp is needed regardless as to what it is. Thanks all

Have they come? 👀

Mumofto · 09/05/2024 19:03

@pambeesleyhalpert yes they came - negative! Need to try and get a gp apt now. I’ve started a food diary because I assume that’s the first thing the gp will ask me

Good idea. They usually like it for 2+ weeks. Hope you get it sorted. I don't think you look pregnant but good to get it checked if it's not normal for you
