Hey ladies, I've never posted on here before but I'm just so lost with how I'm feeling I was wondering if anyone else feels the same. I'm 39 and 16 weeks its been pretty brutal so far I'm still really sick and nauseous, it's pretty much non stop all day. My biggest problem is that I'm so uncontrollably thirsty at night (I'm waking up having dreams about being In the desert needing water.) I'm up about 6 times in the night to drink and have a wee and im finding that the fatigue is killing me. I have a 3 year old and a pretty long commute to work *2hrs so I guess life is tiring but im struggling to function. I dont remember feeling so tired with my last one, I'm finding it hard to be a good mum/friend be good at my job and im feeling like I'm totally not me anymore. I'm just wondering did anyone suffer this level of fatigue and did you find yourself again?

Sorry for the moan! Any help/advice I'd really appreciate

X

You should get checked for gestational diabetes as that might explain the thirst and the tiredness.

Seconding the suggestion to start monitoring your blood sugar. Tiredness and excessive thirst are major GD symptoms x

do you get much help from your partner ? I’m feeling exactly the same I have a 16 month old and i am currently 4 months pregnant with my 2nd child and I work full time and I basically look after my daughter in the morning take her to nursery work a full shift pick her up from nursery (walking as I don’t drive) then come home and do 95% of looking after her until she goes to bed on top of doing all of the housework don’t get me wrong my partner is good to me and a great dad but literally just doesn’t get how much I do and just basically leaves me too do it whilst he enjoys his own time or hobbies and does the odd thing and expects me to be so greatful for the smallest thing such as taking her upto bed literally so exhausted I think it’s important your getting the help you need so you can get at least some rest being pregnant especially with you being so far along (sorry for my rant feeling especially fed up today lol) not that I would change being a mum for anything x

Mention it to your midwife- they are there to support you and may be able to provide you with access to something you didn't know was available

I hope it gets better soon for you x
