Hi this is my first pregnancy,I am 4 weeks and 4 days. The past few nights I am being woken up if I try and turn on my left side with a pain nearly feels bruised inside?

Then this morning when trying to sit up i had the same pain, had to lay back down.

Obviously my head is away I to overdrive and Google has me thinking all sorts but has anyone else experienced this?

I had ivf (fresh transfer) so I do know my ovaries could still be swollen from stims.

There is no plans for me to be seen until week 7 but I think I might need to phone them? Or am I being OTT?

@Hopingtobe4 There is some potential its mild OHSS, or just a bit of cramping from implantation. If you're feeling otherwise well, no need to phone. If your pain persists or becomes worse, or you're feeling unwell in yourself (not just pregnancy symptoms) then I'd give your clinic a call.

Congratulations :)

Thanks i rang the clinic and they reckon ohss and possible ovary twisting but not torsion. Just need to take it easy!

@Hopingtobe4 Resting up sounds like a good idea :) Hopefully it passes soon

Lucylaughing · 07/05/2024 15:07

@Hopingtobe4 hi, I know I've said quite a bit about it on the April IVF group, just wanted to add I've had this. Obviously I've had OHSS confirmed. I've turned over a few times in bed and feel like I've wrenched an ovary. It's incredibly painful but doesn't last long. It's hard to be careful turning over when you're asleep or half asleep! I'm trying not to do any twisting or turning or sudden movements and that seems to be keeping the pain to a low ache rather than an intense sharp pain.

Hopingtobe4 · 07/05/2024 19:53

Thanks @Lucylaughing I do think this is what it is,although not as severe as yours.

How are you now?

@Hopingtobe4 I was feeling a bit better, but I've been a been worse again since the weekend unfortunately. I'm back on the paracetamol for the pain, I've bloated up again (although I didn't go back to normal), and I've got pain when going to the loo. I'm also feeling sick again, with headaches and a weird taste in my mouth, but not sure if that would be the same in a normal pregnancy.

Keep a close eye on your symptoms and make sure you tell the clinic everything as they told me it usually gets worse before it gets better when you're pregnant. Particularly keep an eye on whether you're weeing enough and it's a pale colour, and if you think you're bloating and bloating measure your tummy if you can and weigh yourself. That's the things you can track at home.

Hope you feel better soon. I have been in and out loads for tests so I hope you don't have to do that x

I’d ask them to scan if the pain continues, just to check the pregnancy is in the right place. My first IVF transfer ended up as an ectopic unfortunately (not that it’s very likely for you, but just to be safe).

Lucylaughing · 07/05/2024 22:16

@Hopingtobe4 not really, they said keep an eye on pains in your legs though because of risk of blood clots so make sure you tell the clinic just in case.

I've literally just tested positive for covid. I'm absolutely gutted and even more worried now

@Hopingtobe4 yeah but not for ages. I don't think I will be able to go to my scan appointment on Thursday now. I'm so angry and stressed. I will ring the clinic tomorrow

Worth ringing the clinic and checking, during covid pregnant people still got scanned but the staff wore the correct ppe and equipment was sterilised etc to a certain standard.
Really hope you get sorted x

@Hopingtobe4 thank you. Sorry for hijacking your thread with my woes! Really hope you feel better soon too.

I will ring them first thing but I don't want to put anyone else at risk of catching it (anyone else attending at that time will also be in for early pregnancy scan), so I won't go unless they seem very sure it's fine.

Hopingtobe4 · 08/05/2024 08:29

@Lucylaughing no need to apologise I was glad to hear from you.

Hope you're feeling OK today 🤞🤞 let me know what the clinic says about your scan

@Hopingtobe4 I've had to rebook for next Thursday instead. I thought that was the case. Another week of waiting! I know it won't effect the outcome but I'm pretty devastated.
I also feel completely rough! Had a terrible night's sleep.

How are you doing?

Aw that's a pity but you done the right thing telling them. You are having a rough ride.

i did manage to sleep better than expected last night, I'm cramping on and off all morning really hoping it's pregnancy and nothing else. So hard to know 😪 I'm.booking a private scan for next Friday I've no date yet from clinic to come to them said could be at the 7 1/2 week mark.

@Hopingtobe4 that's rubbish that you don't know when you're going in. I've been counting down the days in my head. I'll be 8w2d next Thursday so at least if it looks ok then I'll be another week further along, another bit more of a chance the bean will make it. I can't relax because of those really poor HCG tests.
I don't think cramping is anything to worry about, hopefully it's just settling in and stretching out

8w2d should hopefully give a Good indication that everything is OK 🤞 it's a fighter thats for sure !
I sent them a message Monday which was my otd and I spoke with them yesterday so they know I've had a positive test etc. I had to send them back a postal slip before they would book the scan,so I sent thay first class yesterday. Hopefully get there today or tomorrow - I'm hoping they update me on the portal and not with a letter lol.

Cramping has stopped so.hoping was just stretching etc. I find myself.2nd.guessing everything! If anyone seen my Google history this past few days lol.

Hopingtobe4 · 15/05/2024 19:40

How are you? Hope covid wasn't too bad x

@Hopingtobe4 hey sorry just seen your message! Fingers crossed for 23rd 🤞

Covid was awful I have to say but I'm feeling better now. Everything was fine on Thursday for our scan, measuring just right for 8 weeks and saw the heartbeat strongly this time. I've been discharged from the clinic and let my GP know, I'm just waiting for the midwife to contact me for next appointments.

Still very worried but just trying to get through a day at a time. I've been very nauseous, tired, headaches etc. as well as the bloating. Bit less pain from the OHSS though I think. Hope you're feeling ok?
