Hi all,

I’m due in August and in the midst of birth planning - I am currently registered at North Middlesex (North mid) hospital, just wondering if anyone has any feedback on their maternity wing? The other local hospital would be the Royal Whittington. I know how brilliant the Royal Free is meant to be, just think it’s too far/unrealistic when in labour!

I think youve done well avoiding the royal free actually - lots of horror stories from there! DS had hers at the Whittington - had a great first birth and v v badly mismanaged second birth mainly stemming from the insistence on ‘natural’ birth when a c section was needed. Generally hear positive things about it though and apparently got a nice birth centre and pool. Not heard anything about notth middlesex. Good luck x

Hi
I’ve given birth at NMUH.
Though the birth was traumatic, I was cared for and listened to at the labour ward.
I did not have fun at all at the maternity ward, the nurses were not helpful and I was all alone during Covid.

If I ever have a baby again, I’ll go to NMUH again as I know now what to expect.
Hope that helps!
