Any second labour success/positive stories?

Just looking for some advice or success stories I guess.

I’ve been offered a c section based on a traumatic vaginal birth with my first DD. I haemorrhaged really badly straight after my delivery and spent many hours in theatre and then into ICU. The physical and metal trauma afterwards is something I’m only just recovering from.

I've been offered a section this time round and thought it was the less risky option given my first labour but it seems like it’s actually more risky. I could still haemorrhage and probably at a higher risk.

I really have no preference, I just want me and my baby to be safe and ok. I really felt like I was going to die last time and it’s taken many years to recover and feel at peace with what happened.

I’d love to know anyone who’s been in a similar position with their first and had a successful second labour either with a section or vaginal birth.

Thanks 🤍

Following as I'm in a similar position, 3rd degree tear, post partum and back to theatre and high dependency afterwards.

I saw an Obstetrician afterwards and was quoted an 8% recurrence risk for perineal trauma with vaginally delivery but stupidly I forgot to ask about the risk of bleeding etc.

I'm currently 12 weeks and have been booked again to see an obstetrician closer to 20 weeks.

I'm veering towards vaginally delivery again actually but interested to hear others stories of 2nd delivery

Following too as I had 2nd degree last time, assisted delivery & PPH with 2 transfusions.. I’m 33 weeks and have the consultant booked for end of month, but still leaning towards natural as I have a little one to take care of so recovery seems easier by going natural vs c section!

Following but no help. Sorry!

I didn't end up in theatre but did haemorrhage after having DD1.

With DD2, they didn't seem overly worried about it happening again - I guess I didn't have any specific risk factors maybe. I ended up being induced at 37 weeks (my waters broke at 34) and despite hearing some horror stories of inductions it was fine, and there was no haemorrhage.

Hey i had a pretty crap first labour and delivery, 15hrs35mins, ended up being rushed to theatre due to pushing for 2 hours and baby heart rate dropping, baby was too low for csec so ended up with episiotomy and forcep delivery 3/4 degree tear, my second labour was only 6hr30 and only small tear with no stitches thankfully, ive also had a planned csec due to twins which was really good tbh certainly less stressful as you just go in lie down and tada! Baby! (Or babies in my case) healed really well, no issues with scar apart from slightly numb patch just below it, and my last delivery- 4 months ago was 1hr and 29 minutes she was born so fast the blood vessels in her eyes burst n she looked a little bit like an adorable red eyed demon haha, and had no tears just a few grazes, every labour and birth is different just because you had a bad one doesn’t mean they will all be bad xx

Good to know about the haemorrhaging, I guess this is my biggest fear @TTPD.

I guess a few of us are in the same boat with fears and lasting impressions of our previous birth!
