Spotting 5+5 weeks

I’ve just had some dark brown spotting. I’m 5+5 weeks today by ovulation with a history of ectopic and recurrent miscarriage. This will be my second miscarriage this year - the first was a blighted ovum I had to have surgery for the day after Boxing Day. Of course it’s a bank holiday so I can’t even self-refer because EPU won’t open again until Tuesday…

Im not sure what this post is for, only that I was hopeful for this one. Tests seemed promising and I got a 3+ weeks at 20dpo. I’m so sad and exhausted by this process, and very fortunate I do have my DD.

@Peonyyyy who would've thought we'd feel being sick was a good thing?! Pregnancy is such a mind-bender. Do you think you'll get a private scan before 12 weeks?

I had a surprise call from EPU this afternoon and they wanted me to come in ASAP. Genuinely didn't think they'd get to me. Miraculously everything seemed okay. I'm even measuring 2 days ahead of where I'm supposed to be at 6+3. They couldn't find a cause for the bleeding though, which does rattle me a bit because I just didn't have any at all with DD. I can only put it down to hoovering the house a bit too vigorously on the Saturday morning?! We heard the heartbeat too. Me and DP sat there in shock because we're so used to a shitty outcome from those scans. It was the same nurse I had for my blighted ovum in December. I'll be on the phone to them again if the bleeding worsens, but they're going to scan me again in just over two weeks. Can't believe it. I was convinced it was over.

Congratulations @deliwoman1, that's great news. Here's hoping the spotting stops and you can start enjoying your pregnancy (as much as is possible in the torturous first trimester!)

@deliwoman1 congratulations, so pleased for you! ❤️ we were the same, I cried when there was a heartbeat as we’ve only ever had bad news in that room before.

they were the same with my bleeding, they just said they don’t know why and it’s common. I know once a heartbeat is seen the risk of mc goes down considerably.

Yey @deliwoman1 ! What a relief.

They also found no cause for mine and I had no spotting with DC1.

Hopefully the rest of your pregnancy is uneventful.

@deliwoman1 that's such great news! Really pleased for you. I so hope I get the same result next week. Only 1 more week to wait....

Thanks everyone! I’m allowing myself to be relieved and happy tonight and I’ll go back to my anxious hand-wringing tomorrow!

@Peonyyyy @moosey89 hey, how did you both get on with your pregnancies after your spotting?

I'm currently 5 weeks and spotting so hoping for happy endings although preparing for the worse. Took 18 months just to fall pregnant so it's a scary time. X

Sadly ended in MMC, my third 😑 so not good news I'm afraid! But spotting can be completely normal so as hard as it is try not to worry too much. Can you get in for an early scan between 6-7 weeks?

@moosey89 oh I'm so sorry to hear that. There really is no telling is there. Yes EPU said that in 7 days time if I'm still spotting and getting a positive test result to go in for a scan. X
