Negative test but no period since March

Hey everyone,

I don’t know whether I need to take another test. I haven’t had a period since the beginning of March, but I have also stopped breastfeeding since then so I don’t know if that could have an impact??

I’ve had irregular periods right the way through breastfeeding, but none since stopping so I wondered if it’s just hormones readjusting? The pregnancy test was negative but I did have to wee on it a little bit more after a little bit as I realised there wasn’t enough on there - would this have an impact on the accuracy? I would have thought if it was positive it would still show as it wasn’t an early test.

I don’t know, do I need to take another test? I don’t feel any of my usual pregnancy signs. It’s far too soon to get pregnant again so I’m nervous.

No idea why the above comment was deleted, they just responded to me calmly with no swears or anything.

anyone else? I know I could just take a test but I’m not on the rich side of mumsnet so I have to count every penny.

Well, I took a test when my period was due (my periods haven’t been as regular since having my son give or take 5 or so days) and it was negative. It was an early detection test too. I immediately started having some brown spotting which I thought was my period and felt irritated that I’d wasted a test.

one week later and my ‘period’ was still just brown so I did a test and it was positive. I think I’m about 6 weeks now and have a scan on Tuesday.

It could happen, but most likely it’s just that your periods are irregular/adjusting after BF and you have just missed one.

are you able to get a cheap test to know for sure? I got a pack of 2 for £4 from boots, Tesco do them too x
