Nosebleeds and feeling faint

I'm only 4/5 weeks pregnant and have started getting spontaneous nose bleeds and having super dizzy/weak almost fainting episodes. The two don't come together, otherwise I'd have blamed the nosebleeds.

I've never felt like this before so can only imagine it's because of the pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced this or should I be concerned? It's daily at the minute and I'm not sure I could cope with this for more than a few weeks. It's making me feel like I shouldn't be on my own.

I think both are common in pregnancy (I have had both in my third trimester), although it's perhaps unusual to get them so soon. Your blood volume starts to expand and your iron levels drop, and both can contribute to nosebleeds and feeling faint. I did get breathlessness in my first trimester at 5-6 weeks pregnant & that's apparently down to hormonal changes. There's a lot going on even really early and these symptoms won't necessarily persist to the end of the first trimester.

You could phone up your GP if you are worried about either symptom, and maybe try an electrolyte drink like Lucozade to stop you feeling faint? Especially if you're starting to go off food. My GP saw me for bad nausea before my midwife booking appointment and was very sympathetic. I hope you feel better soon!
