Vomiting early symptom or dodgy dinner?

I got my BFP 2 days ago and according to Flo, I'm due my period in a couple days.

With my first child I didn't experience any pregnancy symptoms and since I've got my positive I've felt nauseous. But tonight I'm lying in bed unable to sleep as I feel so sick.

We had salmon for dinner and after 1 bite I could tell it hadn't cooked through despite following the right instructions. Popped it back in oven but when it came back out, I was too put off to eat it again.

Does it sound like I've had a dodgy dinner that's making my nausea worse or is this sickness normal?

That would be very unlikely to have caused you food poisoning - was if off or just a bit underdone?

It was quite underdone and needed 10 more mins in the oven to cook. It just didn't seem right and usual flaky salmon texture as it was marinaded in a glaze. It was more rubber like but so not done after 15 mins it was in for.

I feel so sick just thinking about it haha. Does this level of nausea seem normal so early? Everything I've read says morning sickness comes later 🧐

I honestly think it might be a psychological reaction - you’re already feeling a bit nauseous, you then saw something that could cause you food poisoning and your body has overreacted. Some theories about why we have morning sickness at all suggest it’s a body’s overreaction to perceived toxins - I don’t know if I believe it but it makes sense in this particular situation.

Oh also when you were put off the salmon, did you eat anything else instead? Hunger definitely can make the nausea worse.

So I think it was food poisoning after all as I spent the entire night with 💩 as well!! I feel awful today and can't touch food.

Should I be concerned about this affecting my pregnancy?
