I've just had a 16 week gender scan we didn't have a reveal but I've been looking on social media at gender reveals, almost all the woman in these videos are very obviously pregnant and yet I still don't look pregnant.
When did your bump start to show so you looked visibly pregnant?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Aoife2024 · 26/04/2024 20:42

On first pregnancy, bump didn't show until I was 20 weeks!

VioletMoonGirl · 26/04/2024 20:44

Can sometimes depend on the placenta position, ab muscles, womb position and lots of other things really. The important thing is a happy, healthy pregnancy and baby. Congratulations 🍾

DuploTrain · 26/04/2024 20:47

I could see a visible bump at 20 weeks but it wasn’t obvious enough for anyone who didn’t already know I was pregnant to mention it until after about 30 weeks.

jellybe · 26/04/2024 20:51

First pregnancy I was about 24 weeks when my bump popped.
Second at about 16 weeks
Third I still looked pregnant for second 😂

MillshakePickle · 26/04/2024 20:51

First pregnancy 20 wks before I had a bump that made look pregnant, I just looked kinda puffy before then.

Dc2 several years later and didn't look pregnant until week 31! Tint baby and a small bump. Looked 6 months pregnant when I gave birth.

Average size and weight and short at 5'3

Happyharper · 26/04/2024 21:01

I'm 17 weeks and it popped literally over night at 16 +4! I think it's really noticeable but no one else does! It's definitely way smaller than the bumps in the reveal videos - maybe they do them at 20 weeks?

allgoodthings84 · 26/04/2024 21:04

I didn’t show with my first until after the 20 weeks scan. I can’t remember exactly when but I remember I had no bump at the scan. My bump with my first never got that big. I looked obviously pregnant but only measured 30 weeks at 41 weeks.

Even with my second I wasn’t showing at 16 weeks to others but without clothes on I looked a bit bloated. By the end I looked massive though with my second 😂

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 26/04/2024 21:18

I didn't really show until later than that with both my children.

The first time I was working with a really toxic work colleague and knew that he would want to tell all my clients that I was pregnant and try to make things difficult for me so I deliberately told other people in confidence until he was the only person left who didn't know, and then finally announced it officially after my 22 week scan. I did have a bit of a bump by then but pretty much managed to hide it until gone 20 weeks.

MmMmMmMmMmMmMmM · 26/04/2024 21:20

Around 20 weeks for both of mine.

Littleleopardlady · 26/04/2024 21:23

I was still in my normal jeans at 20 weeks. I wasn't very obviously pregnant until a few weeks later.

Aisah · 26/04/2024 21:32

Everyones different. I eat like an actual horse when pregnant so i showed earlier in my first pregnancy but not properly until 16 to 20 weeks. Atm i am 12 weeks pregnant and i feel like a pregnant horse with twins. Thanksfully i am having only one.

Your bigger bump will come soon.

Devilsmommy · 26/04/2024 21:45

People didn't realise I was pregnant till I was about 7 months gone🤣

Nightowly · 26/04/2024 21:55

I am 36 weeks and can very easily hide mine even now! It’s not very big at all

bleurghbleurghbleurgh · 26/04/2024 21:55

I remember trudging round the park with my dog, had a chat with a fellow dog walker and my coat fell open. She said 'oooh I didn't realise you were pregnant, when are you due?'
Through gritted teeth I I had to inform her that I was in fact 10 days overdue 🤣

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 26/04/2024 21:57

First pregnancy and I was just getting out the elasticated jeans at 20 weeks.....you must have good abdominal muscles. it will happen soon!

Georgianbase · 26/04/2024 22:07

I think it was somewhere between 16-18 weeks where it just popped out. When I got preggo second time it was much sooner

Rowgtfc72 · 26/04/2024 22:10

About 7 months with dd. She was back to back and just popped out overnight.
When we took her home a neighbour asked us whose baby we had- she hadn't even realised I was pregnant

SErunner · 26/04/2024 22:14

I only started properly showing at 24 weeks. Was still in normal clothes until at least 28 weeks. Everyone carries differently :)

OnTheSeaShore · 26/04/2024 22:23

I didn't have much of a day time bump even at 7 months. It was HUGE at night though. Must have been how DS was lying

LimeLime · 26/04/2024 22:47

Same here, I couldn't believe how many people had no idea I was pregnant, back to back babies are very un-showy. And since she was a winter baby, the bump was well concealed under my wool cape. All the neighbours were astonished.

agncndmkd128494 · 26/04/2024 23:23

Even at my 20 week scan with my first I hardly had a bump when lying down! I was quite slim then with strong abdominal muscles (those days are long gone haha!)

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 26/04/2024 23:26

I didn't have a noticeable bump until after 20 weeks. By 30 weeks people saw me and were like 'about to pop, not long to wait' and looked horrified when I was like nope. Kept me waiting until 41+2 as well. Fucking gigantic, was over 9lb baby though and did carry very much like a lump out the front 😅 i honestly by the end felt deeper than I did tall!

spiderlight · 26/04/2024 23:42

My bump popped on the day of my 20-week scan. Absolutely no sign of it the night before! I was worried and was going to ask about it at the scan, and then I woke up and there it was!

Rowgtfc72 · 27/04/2024 08:05

@LimeLime did you have aa average sized baby? I was induced at 37 weeks as she was growing too fast but was still 8lb 6oz. They reckoned she'd have been 10 11lbs!
We did have scares at a few appts though as they could never find her heartbeat as she was so far back. How much room ìs there in there?!

PoppingTomorrow · 27/04/2024 08:08

Those women at "gender reveal" parties aren't 16 w for the most part
