36 weeks, baby ‘brim’ position

Hi,

I’ve had my 36 week MW appt and MW said baby was ‘brim’ position. Does this mean baby is above pelvis and still hasn’t dropped or baby is in pelvis engaged? I get the 1/5 - 5/5 palp but ‘brim’, I don’t get?

Baby appears to have dropped. Increased bath room visits, intense griddle pain right now, a lot of bump tightenings, serious waddle going on, softer bowel movements and lower back ache.

third child and I really don’t think she’ll be waiting around much longer but ‘brim’ is making me feel like maybe I haven’t dropped and not engaged?!

I might be wrong but from my understanding brim is 4/5ths engaged so baby’s head just in to the pelvis.

This where the widest part of baby's head has dipped into the entrance of the pelvis (the brim). So baby is engaged, but it can happen with second or subsequent babies that they engage and then move out again as they have more space to move around. This is not to say that this will happen to you but it can so isn't a done deal that things will stay this way. Hope all goes well with the rest of your pregnancy and birth.
