Leukocytes in Urine

I had my 16 week antenatal appointment with my GP earlier today. I checked my notes later this evening in my urine test and it said leukocytes were present (nothing about quantity). There was nothing citing the urine results in my midwife’s notes indicating concern nor did I receive a follow up call.

I’m not experiencing any UTI symptoms, so it’s unclear to me why I would have leukocytes present. Has this happened to anyone else?

(PS - I will try calling my midwife tomorrow for more information).

These can appear in urine for many reasons, nothing to worry about. Not indicative of infection.

Yes, I had leukocytes (& sometimes blood) present in my urine all throughout my first pregnancy. In fact I posted a similar thread myself! Absolutely nothing wrong, no signs of UTI or anything. Was just one of those things I guess. Pregnancy can wreak havoc on our bodies x

I’m 36+5 and have had them in most of my urine samples. The midwife said it can even come from a bit of discharge getting in the urine so if I’ve no symptoms not to worry. Just keep an eye on things, I’ve had thrush a few weeks ago and they were showing during that time too but it was all taken care of.
