No morning sickness?

has anyone else not really had morning sickness at all?

I was very sick with my first pregnancy (up to about 18 weeks!)

last pregnancy (ended in m/c) I had no sickness.

I'm now pregnant again, but apart from bout of wretching on the day my period was late (which led me to do the test and get the BFP!) I don't feel sick at all, just tired. Winding myself up badly about lack of sickness being a bad sign :-(

p.s. i'm 8 weeks on friday.

kerala · 02/04/2008 17:26

Am 8 weeks today and also a boob grabber to check they are still sore!

Feeling sick and tired (in bed after dinner every night this week wild life I am leading) and feel very odd and like I did with my first so fingers crossed. But still such early days.

Pinkali37 · 02/04/2008 17:30

I also poke my boobs at odd times (most strangely today in the car then realised man in van in front of me saw me do it !! LOL

MotherDear · 04/04/2008 13:40

I am also a compulsive BTC (Boob Tenderness Checker ). Starting to feel very slightly nauseous, too. Think I am 5 + 4, so will be 6+2 when I'm scanned at the EPU on Weds. Do you think if all is OK they will be able to detect my bean? I hope so, as if not I won't be able to stop myself from feeling seriously worried after m/c las year...

Heartmum2Jamie · 04/04/2008 13:58

MrsHattie, All pregnancies are different and you may be lucky enough to not get ms this time.

As for me, I am 9+4 and feel GREAT. I felt a bit nauseous between 6 & 7 weeks then it went away for almost 2 weeks before making a return visit for 4 evenings between 8+6 & 9+2. I count myself as one of the lucky ones to feel so good, although I agree it can be nerve wracking when you keep wondering if you imagined getting a positive test! Good luck, I hope you won't end up laughing at your post a week or 2 down the line.

thomasina1 · 04/04/2008 14:28

Me again... just wanted to say that after my worrying due to sickness disappearing all is OK. Went for the sacn at EPU this morning. 6wks+5 they reckon, measuring 6.6mm! And a heartbeat! Phew.

MotherDear, I think they should definitley be able to see embryo at 6+2. If they can't detect heartbeat they'll ask you to come back in a few days, but I think you should be OK any time after 6 wks. They also use size of sac (bigger than embyro) to work out dates.

Becky77 · 04/04/2008 14:41

I had nausea (but no actual vomiting) from week 8 until week 12... Even that wasn't much fun! I'm now 31 weeks and baby is kicking like a trooper

Pinkali37 · 04/04/2008 14:51

I had internal scan at 6wk 5 days and my PEA had heartbeat and measured 7.4mm.

So... after worrying about the nausea disappearing and the midwife making me think something was wrong, I have now had 2 blood tests (48hrs between) first result was 160,000 (hcg) and second was 168,267. Doctor says that is fine for being 8 weeks BUT EPAU said it hasn't risen much (even though I was told at 8-9 wks it settles down) and so have booked me in for another scan on Monday. YIKES>.... I wish all advisors would sing from teh same hymn sheet!

MrsMattie · 04/04/2008 15:23

Was that 6wks +5 from your last period, or from when you think you actually conceived?@Pinkali. I also have an scan at 6 wks next week (6 wks from last period) and am worried because of previous mc.

OP posts:
thomasina1 · 04/04/2008 15:36

My scan with heartbeat this morning was 7 +5 from last period, but as my cycle is 35 days they corrected it by one week. So if you have a 28 day cycle, when they say "6 +5" that means from last period. Apparently they can detect heartbeat from 6wks onwards.

Pinkali37 · 04/04/2008 15:42

Erm.. mine was 6 wk 5 from last period I think???

miamla · 04/04/2008 15:58

i'm a first timer at 23 +3
I know its easier said than done but please try not to worry about everything. Every pregnancy is different. and Pinkali37... i'm afraid having conflicting info/advice from different professionals is exactly what i've had too. Focus on the info that is the best and concentrate on staying healthy for your beans
i wish you all lots of good fortune
x

ps as i'm sure you've found out already, if something's happening that you're not sure of ask your mw but i also strongly recommend you ask the ladies on here. they've helped me through many nights that would otherwise be void of sleep without their comforting words

Pinkali37 · 04/04/2008 16:03

Miamla, thank you. It is so difficult isn't it. Previous mc hasn't helped. I so want to enjoy this pregnancy. If all is ok on Monday i will start to enjoy it (until the next problem occurs lol). I just pray all is fine and that my PEA is happy and growing. I've already seen it's heartbeat so I know it works so i pray it is still working and healthy. x

Oblomov · 04/04/2008 16:04

I had none last time at all. Nothing. This time I have some wretching when I get up and a tiny bit of nauseau throughout the day, but nothing too bad. Don't worry, you aren't missing anything !!

Pinkali37 · 04/04/2008 16:11

I think it's the fact I had some for 2 weeks and it disappeared. I almost wish i had it.. (I'm sure i wouldn't if i did).

Everything is always a waiting game.. So my levels have risen BUT is it enough?

feetheart · 04/04/2008 16:14

No sickness at all with either of mine (though I don't tend to mention it as it p*sses most people off when they were feeling really rough )

One girl, one boy so old wives tales about feeling sick with one sex and not the other out the window too.

Hasn't anyone told you yet that as soon as you get pregnant you start to worry.....................and you NEVER stop - sorry!

Also boob-checking compulsory whilst bfing as you are usually too tired to remember which side was 'used' last.
Welcome to the joys od motherhood

Pinkali37 · 04/04/2008 16:16

Hee hee thank you feetheart. How far along are you?

everything is a worry. from trying to conceive with severe endometriosis and DH having a vasectomy reversal after 13 years... Then once you conceive (which is a miracle) i worry that something has gone wrong. I feel like I could go crazy.

Oblomov · 04/04/2008 16:29

If you have had a mc, like amny of us have had, even a scan doen't help. I've had mine (7 wk) this week, and even now I am pertrified at every pain, every ache I have.
I MUST be more positive.

jcscot · 04/04/2008 16:31

I had three miscarriages before I had my son - no sickness with any of them, but I was sick when I carried my son.

I'm now pregnant again (22wks) and I had no sickness whatsoever.

I think every pregnancy (and every woman, for that matter) is different.

feetheart · 04/04/2008 16:33

DD now 5, DS 2.5 so woes and worries of pregnancy well behind me. Woes and worries of stroppy children well to the fore

Easy to say but TRY to be easy on yourself.

Pinkali37 · 04/04/2008 16:37

Agghh I see. The worry never stops, even once you have them in your arms. It then continues for life. lol

feetheart · 04/04/2008 16:39

My mum still worries about me and I'm in my 40's so no, it never stops

iamdingdong · 04/04/2008 16:40
