Hi 👋

I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. My DD was born via emcs (fully dilated) so Iv been advised Iv got an appt for a cervical scan when I'm 20 weeks to check no damage was done.

Has anyone else been through this?

Thank you 😊

Not for the same reasons but I'm having a cervical scan this week. From the info hospital has given me, it's to check length of cervix and provide options to avoid early labour. It's a preventative measure.

I've not heard of this before, my first labour I also fully dilated and I had an EMCS. My second baby, born in 2021 I had him via ELCS and my cervix was never checked.

@readyforroundthree they offer it for past emcs in my area due to potential for pre term labour

@Sara1988 oh wow I didn't know this and I'm surprised my hospital doesn't considering it's one of the biggest maternity hospitals in the south of England. I'm now pregnant with number 3 so might question this with my midwife.
