Am I pregnant? Two tests say so

My period was due yesterday and it didn't come, and none of the usual symptoms of tummy cramps or bad skin. I took a test in the afternoon and it had the faintest blue line. I bought a digital test and took that first thing this morning and it said pregnant 1-2 weeks.

So am I pregnant? Are these tests accurate? Should I do another test tomorrow? Or next week? I don't want to get my hopes up if it isn't true.

I've worried about my fertility as this is my first time trying to conceive and I'm late 30's with a fairly unhealthy lifestyle (eat & drink too much and don't move enough!!) but I'm potentially pregnant within 3 months of trying. I didn't know it could be that 'quick' for us.

I mean it sounds like it, yes

Your period is late and you’ve had 2 positive tests so I would say you’re definitely pregnant. Congratulations!

I'm 36 - have had three pregnancies in the last three years and each happened first month we tried so if you've had two positive tests then you're definitely pregnant! Congratulations!

Thank you.

It sounds so stupid to ask with the way I've written it down like this - but I'm just terrified I'll get excited and then someone is going to tell me I got it wrong 🙈

False positives are vanishingly rare, there’s no way you’d have two.

Congratulations!

Each time I have struggled to believe it too!

holjam · 19/04/2024 17:53

Congratulations!
With 2 positive tests - you are pregnant.

I have one more test left in the bathroom cabinet I think I'll do that one tomorrow as well - third times the charm LOL

Thanks everyone for not making me feel totally stupid. We've not told anyone we are trying for a baby as didn't want the added pressure so I don't have anyone else to ask apart from strangers on the internet 🙈

The early days are hard when you don't know exactly what's going on! I have done at least 15 tests, it does help in some ways to make it a bit more real!

I am just in first pregnancy, late 30s and I took four pregnancy tests over the first week just to be sure! It's normal not to quite believe it but in reality everyone is right that false positives are very very very rare and two positives basically already rules that out. Congratulations!
