Calling for reduced movements - is that from 24 weeks?

I’m 18 weeks and have felt movement almost ever day since week 15.

I realised I didn’t feel any movement yesterday and nothing this morning.

But it’s still early to be able to regularly count or measure movements, isn’t it?

Am I right in thinking that the advice to call in, is only once the baby reaches viability, because if there’s a problem it may be that they’re better out than in.

But at this stage, even if something is wrong, there’s nothing that can be done anyway?

Worth noting that if your placenta is at front you might not feel them much

also even if it’s at back they may have turned so their back is against tummy kicking into the placenta at back

Ours don't really take notice until 26-28 weeks but will use a Doppler to hear heartbeat.

Movements can be very sporadic up to 28 weeks as they baby is still really small. However if you are concerned give the midwife a call and she will no doubt advise.
I started feeling movement at 19 weeks but it wasnt every day. Still now at 31 weeks although I feel movement every day there is no pattern to it at all I just have to try and be aware if I haven't felt anything for a while.

Before 24 weeks it's still worth a call to your midwifery team this morning

Thank you, after reading your post I gave them a ring. They did say it was very early to track regular movements but as I had already been feeling them for a while to come in for reassurance. I have just done so and the baby’s heartbeat was fine. They think the baby simply turned around so their back is at the front of my belly. They were very reassuring and said they’d much rather me come in than sit at home worrying. I feel so much better now. Thank you all for the support. Flowers
