Yesterday I attended triage with baby not doing usual movements didn't feel as strong got monitored and all fine. The doc came to see me and said looks like baby hanst grown in last month looking at my growth chart I was shocked. They can't offer a scan because no appointments for 2 weeks. I have to go back tomorrow to be monitored. Anyone else been in a similar situation?? Just been worried all night.

Please don’t worry, it just means they might bring the birth forward.

I had lots of monitoring (every other day) with first, it was all fine in the end - think nhs (rightly) are v cautious when it comes to babies

Go back before they have said though OP if you are worried about movements between appointments x

Baby hasn't grown how do they know? Fundal height? If so take it with a pinch of salt! I got told 37, 33 and 34 cm all in a matter of 2 days and 3 different midwives at 38 weeks. Baby girl was 7lb 11 at 40+2. I'm surprised they won't squeeze you in for a scan. Worst case scenario they deliver baby soon and you're considered term so baby will be fine x

They can't possibly tell if the baby has/hasn't grown if they haven't done a scan just by measuring your bump! As the above poster said, they all measure so differently! I would also refuse any offers of starting labour early etc until you've had a scan and they've actually checked properly as it could be completely unnecessary!

Thanks everyone yes I don't understand how they can say baby hasn't grown without a scan , just doesn't make sense. See what happens ovr next few days xx
