Cramping pain that are sometimes sharp

I am 3 weeks and a few days, been crampy for a couple of days with some sharp pains on the left side here and there hit when they do come they are pretty strong….
Is this normal or signs of miscarriage/ectopic?

Hello! I’m currently 5 weeks 5 days but since 4 weeks I’ve had a left side pain which felt dull but at times was more like a stabbing pain. I was worried about ectopic and had a scan at 5+3 which ruled out ectopic but found no cause for the pain, I ovulated from my right side and they said it could just be pregnancy hormones. Try not to worry but if the pain gets worse or you are still concerned book yourself in for a scan x

For me the cramps were one of the symptoms that made me realise I was pregnant, and some of them were really sharp. I think it may have been caused by an increase of wind/gas, but I was convinced it was my period for a while because it was intense! I couldn't say for sure if you're having the same, that's why it's best to check with a medical professional

In the nicest possible way, please don't follow the advice above to go and get this checked out by a medical professional at this stage. It sounds like your period isn't even due yet and you've taken an early test? There is absolutely nothing anyone will be able to do at this stage, you wouldn't even be able to see anything on a scan yet. Cramping is really normal in early pregnancy.
