90th centile to under 3rd centile drop!

Midwife measured me at 28 weeks and baby was measuring in the 90th centile. Just been to my 34 week appointment and baby has dropped all the way down to the 3rd centile. Urgent growth scan all booked in for tomorrow - but I'm panicking.

Anyone else had this or similar? What was the outcome??

I was in this exact situation, went for a growth scan and baby was measuring absolutely fine.

Then every time throughout the 30s my midwife measured me it was always below and I'd get sent for a scan and was always fine!

This happened to me in my first pregnancy and it turned out baby had just turned and changed position. Everything completely fine!

Is this due to fundal height? Those measurements are awful. Never measure correct on those. At 38 weeks I had one midwife measure me as 37 on Tuesday, another midwife measure me as 33 on Thursday and then her colleague checked and changed it to 34. My baby came at 40+2 and was 7lb 11. Don't stress, just get the scan to check all is going ok but honestly those fundal heights are useless

Are you talking about fundal height? That isn't a measure of the baby, and it's very crude indeed. Odds are everything is fine.

@winterbabyrose please don't worry, as others have said these measurements can be very unreliable.

However if there is an issue, 34 weeks, although early, is very safe to deliver baby. Chances of babies survival is equivalent to a baby born at full term.
