Bright red blood then spotting

I'm just getting to 6 weeks today (ivf pregnancy) and woke up with bright red blood on wiping. I'm so worried. I've had 2 SCHs before in my natural pregnancies and then miscarried. I'm on clexane and aspirin too.
I've emailed my fertility clinic and have an appointment tomorrow morning at my recurrent miscarriage clinic for a scan. I have stopped aspirin and clexane. Any other advice? Positive stories? I'm having a freak out.

I'm so sorry you've got this worry.

I had bleeding at six weeks with one pregnancy (not IVF) and was prepared for the worst, but the baby was fine.

I hope it all goes well for you. Waiting to find out is horrible.

@tomkat81

there was bit in my underwear when I woke up and bright red on wiping. Since then it's been brownish discharge. I'm hoping it's stopped

Three ivf pregnancies with spotting. Two end up in miscarriage and one is ongoing currently 15 weeks :)
It used to frustrate me when people said it was normal but it really can be. I’ve known two people with a bigger bleed than a bit of spotting and babies have been fine :) x

Is clexhane a blood thinner? If so I was on both asprin and a blood thinning infection this time which could explain the spotting I think. I was also on pessaries which could explain a bit of spotting due to irritation.

PB6 · 18/04/2024 17:23

@Latenightanxiety yes Clexane is a blood thinner. I'm using pessaries the other way so don't think it's that

What makes you say that?

sarahc336 · 18/04/2024 17:24

If it's turned brown that's hopeful op. A miscarriage would tend to get worse and have clots and lots of cramping

Surely it stands to reason that a tiny bit of blood would appear worse while on blood thinners? My theory anyway 😂 also could be bruising (heamatoma) coming away. I had a tiny pocket of blood on my first scan

PB6 · 18/04/2024 17:46

@tomkat81 sorry I don't understand what you mean?

I hope you get good news at your scan this morning, @PB6

PB6 · 19/04/2024 13:59

@TheShellBeach we did thanks. They couldn't see any cause for the bleed. To monitor now. Keeping fingers crossed!
