Duodenal atresia - double bubble

I’m pregnant with my first child, a baby boy. We originally got sent to a specialist due to a slight umbilical vein varix (which they are monitoring and all is ok) however on our most recent scan (24 weeks) they’ve found a ‘double bubble’ and have said it could be duodenal atresia and that there is a 1/3 association of this condition to Down’s syndrome. I don’t know how to feel or what to think. We’ve had the NIPT and are waiting for the results. We opted for the 12 week testing and our risk of Down’s syndrome came back low (1 in 13,000) and I know he could be that 1 but it just doesn’t make sense. None of it makes any sense to me and I’m just so scared. Every time I feel him move I can’t help but cry, and I can’t explain it, I just don’t know what to do or how to feel

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this. I have nothing to offer but I didn’t want to read and run. At least the tests you are having done should give you a clear answer. It must be a scary time but eEverything may still be well x

He was born at 25 + 1 and we're now at 35 weeks and he's having his atresia surgery either today or tomorrow
I'm terrified, he's been through so much already and they mention about the possible complications and how sick he can be after
