Implantation bleed - when to test?

Hi,

I had what I thought was an implantation bleed two days earlier than my predicted period. Only bled lightly for 2 days. Period is usually 4 days. This was last Wednesday.

I’ve just done a test, I have no idea when I ovulated so not sure if it’s too early? On here it says to wait 7-10 days after implantation bleed? Any help welcome!

Thanks! X

They usually say wait until a couple of days after implantation bleed as you will need to build up enough HCG in your system to show on a test.

I waited around 3 days after my implantation bleed which was 10 days DPO when I had my first faint positive!

Roll on another 4 days and my line is now even darker so I would give it a couple of days and do another one! X

If that was last Wednesday and it was two days before your period was due, do you mean your period was due last Friday? I would expect a pregnancy test to show a clear positive at 5 days late. Or have I misunderstood that?

It's also worth bearing in mind that most women don't have any implantation bleeding - I had never even heard of it until I started reading Mumsnet. This forum makes it seem like a much more common thing than it really is!

Yes my period was due last Friday. But started bleeding two days before really lightly, thought it was the start of my period but it finished my Thursday evening. Really weird. Might just be a weird period month! X

Ahh I see! My predicted ovulation was apparently the 30th March, so 11 days after I started bleeding 10th April. Really confused as my period was due 12th April. But was such a short period it’s makes me wonder. Really not sure though. It’s been a week after that now so maybe it was just a dodgey cycle month x

It could be implantation! What was the flow like and colour? It can happen between 6-12 days after!

I know everyone is completely different so I wouldn’t read too much into these threads of what others was like, for example .. my friend had one tiny dot of brown , another friend had 3 full day of period red blood and mine was 1 day of light brown spotting, that evening I had red when I wiped then back to nothing the next day.

Easier said than done, but I would take your mind off it as best you can, and test again on the weekend personally at least you will know by then for sure! X
