Hi all!
So basically Im 13 weeks pregnant and about 1,5 week ago elder son was diagnosed with slapped cheek.
I have phoned my midwife and she checked my booking bloods from 8 weeks to check it for antibodies. It came back as Igg detected Igm not detected. However Iam worried that she used my blood from 8 weeks and i have been exposed lets say at 11 weeks. Am I safe? She said i will be alright.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

If she said you’ll be okay then I’d trust her but I know when it was going around my school (I’m a primary teacher) my midwife wanted me to get updated bloods.

No harm in contacting her again and explaining you’re worried and ask for an updated blood test.

If you had IgG antibodies at 8 weeks and no detectable IgM, that means you were infected with Parvovirus B19 in the past (maybe as a child) and are protected. As far as I know, the risk with parvo is a first infection in pregnancy- and your first infection will have been weeks to decades before your eight week booking bloods.

Thank you! You made my day today.
I was worrying so much about it.
Yes, at 8 weeks booking blood i have been tested as follows:
Igg detected
Igm not detected
Then i came into contact with parvo at lets say 11 weeks.
I just want to enjoy my pregnancy not feeling stressed every day. My previous pregnancy was a roller coaster since anatomy scan ( son born with one working kidney ) i just would like to enjoy this one.
