Positives on early detection after miscarriage? Residual HCG?

Hi all,

New to Mumsnet as I feel that I need to talk to someone cause I'm going insane.
So on the 7th of march I found out my baby's heart had stopped beating (I was 9.5 weeks but baby was measuring 8 weeks). A missed miscarriage.
I had 2 failed courses of medical management, and eventually ended up having to have an MVA on the 22nd of March.
I finally started to test negative on the £1 "Freedom" pregnancy tests from Sainsbury's on 5th of April. At the same time, I was also using Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation kits, and found out I had ovulated on the 6th April.

On the 7th of April I did a clearblue 6 days early detection digital which was negative. (For peace of mind).

Fast forward to yesterday, where I would be 6dpo, and I've started testing positive on FRER and another random test I have.
I'm negative on the £1 freedom tests, and the clearblue 6 days early digital.

I don't know if this is old HCG? It's likely too early to be new pregnancy? Can someone help me :(

Hi random247, and welcome to Mumsnet. sorry about your MMC. I had one myself in the Autumn, found at 12 week scan so I know how devastating they are, as do many others on here.
One possibility is that the FRER is picking up a tiny trace of HCG remaining. They are extremely sensitive so they might be showing a positive where others dont. Just a thought.
I would give it another fortnight and test with the FRER again so see if the positive has become more faint or disappeared. If it is still showing a clear positive then a trip to the doctor would be my advice. Hope all goes well.
