Has anyone ever been told the wrong gender?

So I know this can happen you do hear stories but I just wondered how common or uncommon it really was in your experiences? I have a private gender scan today at 17 + 2, everyone’s desperate to find out after but I’m scared they say girl for example and it’s really a boy hiding his bits lol!
i am totally happy with either or just wondered if it was as common as it’s made out?

I don't think it's very common to be told the incorrect sex, I know sometimes they can't see properly though

My mum was! But it was in the early days of scans and they probably weren’t as clear or accurate. My baby “sister” turned out to be my 3rd baby brother!

Me I've been for 3 nhs scans so far and they all said girl when for a 4d scan last week at 30 weeks and oh well I could not miss the fact he is a boy! It I had not or booked the 4d scan my boy would of been leaving the hospital in pink clothes and bottles 😂 I've managed to return some bits x

My BIL and SIL were told girl with their second, which then turned out to be a boy!

For accuracy, you can get a NIPT private test done which analyses the chromosomes and can tell you for sure if there are boy or girl chromosomes in there x
