Help! Can't walk - severe lower back pain 38 weeks

I'm 39 weeks on Sunday and 2 days ago got severe lower right back pain which means I can't put weight on my right leg. I literally can't walk to the toilet without being in agony and holding onto walls etc. I feel so down and depressed, I have 2 small children to run after. Anyone have any suggestions? Could it be trapped sciatic nerve? What can I do to get rid of this quickly? Thanks

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain! I'm similar stage as you but have been having lower back pain for weeks, it is horrible! If the pain is unbearable it might be worth calling triage for advice as they might know where to signpost you to? One thing that helped me is my partner using a tennis ball to roll around/massage the muscles around my lower back, it really helps loosen things out, if you try it go slow and just tell your partner to be very gently to start and see how you tolerate it maybe? Or if your partner isn't around you could try do it yourself using the wall and tennis ball.. Might not help but could be worth trying, not long left too🤞

It could well be SPD, I would call your midwife and ask about it. It can be genuinely dreadful.

Thanks guys. Have sent a message to dr who will hopefully get back to me soon. I've put a hot water bottle for now, as paracetamol is useless

I had really bad lower back pain that started at 37 weeks and I think it was first sign of labour as I then had my baby a few days later.
