Hi everyone

I am 17 weeks and feeling pretty good apart from the fact that EVERY SINGLE MORNING for the past 4 weeks I've been waking up between 2-3 am and unable to get back to sleep.

I have tried everything I see recommended

  • not drinking before bed - i just wake up super thirsty anyway
  • magnesium before bed
  • not looking at phone screen
  • yoga nidra
  • no caffiene

I don't know what else to do and its driving me mad. Does anyone have any tips??

I never found anything that worked unfortunately but I was well prepared for sleep deprivation 🤣

@Kofifi I've been waking up early too (more like 4/5 so not as bad as you) and the only thing I've really had success with is something I've previously heard recommended for insomnia; if you wake up, don't try and lie there forcing yourself to sleep but do something like read a few chapters of a book. Wait until you feel tired again and then try to get back to sleep. Basically let yourself be awake for a little while and then if you do feel sleepy, lie down again and you might drop back off. It does work for me probably more than half the time, altho not every time.

Hey! Mum to a little girl 3months old. I suffered ry badly with insomnia, unfortunately found no cure but just to say as soon as she was born it disappeared.. but then came the sleep deprivation 🥲

Enjoy the sleep you can get 🩷

I wake up at that time too, whether I go to bed at 9 or midnight. Same with my first pregnancy. I think it's just prep for those night feeds 😂
