Hi I'm newly pregnant and this is the first time ive ever been pregnant.

Im currently 6 weeks pregnant and other than the positive pregnancy test following a missed period the only possible symptoms ive had is occasional cramps (which feel like period pains) and occasional sore breasts.

Is this normal or should I have felt something before now?

When did everyone else start having symptoms?

I didn't have symptoms except for no period

JJV571989 · 09/04/2024 18:58

@WandaWonder was that for the whole of your pregnancy?

@WandaWonder was that for the whole of your pregnancy?

Yes

Garman · 09/04/2024 19:02

So then you have three symptoms?

Awaywiththeferries123 · 09/04/2024 19:04

I was the same, no nausea but some cramping and sore boobs from about 6 weeks. I didn’t get anything else for the rest of the pregnancy.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 09/04/2024 19:24

With hindsight I had sore boobs but at the time I put that down to moving continents, changing water type and a new bra 😆

I had irregular periods, so didn’t think much of it until I was roughly 17 weeks and the expanding waistline raised eyebrows.

JJV571989 · 09/04/2024 19:35

So it seems quite normal to not really have anything then?

It varies massively from woman to woman, and even pregnancy to pregnancy. With my son I felt a bit dizzy and had a couple of cramps around week 4, felt tired and hungover for a couple of weeks then went off my food for a few days around week 7, then nothing after that till horrible pelvis pain kicked in at week 21.
Other women through up 20 times a day from the minute they get a positive test.

Thanks everyone this has made me feel much calm.

We have just been trying for so long thinking it wasn't going to happen and now this part seems more stressful than that was.

Yes don't worry! I had nothing at all at six weeks.

I think I got a bit tired during one stage (maybe around the third month), but other than that, no symptoms really during the whole time. Apart from a bump as time went on!

I'm pretty old and quite a pukey person so I was surprised I felt ok.

sockarefootwear · 09/04/2024 20:14

With both of mine, the only symptoms until I started to 'show' were missed periods and positive pregnancy tests. Both times I was half convinced that my 12 week scan would show nothing!

Happyharper · 09/04/2024 20:14

I didn't havs many symptoms at 6 weeks - just felt really tired. Been feeling awful from 7 weeks (I'm almost 15 weeks now). So symptoms may come for you - or not- we're all different!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 09/04/2024 20:16

I had no symptoms until 7+4 with my first, at which point I developed HG and didn't stop throwing up and dry heaving until DS was evicted at 39+4z.

Akj29 · 09/04/2024 20:20

Pregnancy 1: mild nausea, sore boobs
Pregnancy 2: only sore boobs

🙂

JJV571989 · 09/04/2024 20:30

Thank you everyone this has made me feel so much better. With the most dominant symptom being the cramps which just makes me feel like I'm coming on my period any day I was honestly considering I had dreamt the positive tests. As everything you read about pregnancy symptoms focuses more of symptoms such as morning sickness.

OP posts:
Olika · 09/04/2024 20:35

I didn't even know I was pregnant until about 6 weeks as I was tired of getting negative tests so didn't test. Didn't feel anything for another few weeks which was making me worried but gosh once my daily nausea started it was there every day to 3rd trimester.

KiwiLondoner · 09/04/2024 20:41

10000000000% normal - it's almost weird! Your mind will be put at rest in two weeks if you choose to do a private scan at eight weeks. Congrats! Xxx

NewbieParentMango · 09/04/2024 20:45

I never really had any - the whole way. It was a pretty easy pregnancy overall. I felt so lucky.
Baby is now 9 weeks!

Bobskeleton · 09/04/2024 20:46

I don't think I got symptoms until 6-7 weeks. And they definitely came and went, which was great for the not so favourable ones!

RRAEE · 09/04/2024 21:14

@Olika when was the last bfn you got before you found out. If you do mind me asking

Olika · 09/04/2024 21:35

@RRAEE I didn't test at all until my periods were about 1.5-2 weeks late as I had some longer cycles happening randomly.

RRAEE · 09/04/2024 21:39

@Olika I'm 5 days late and still BFNs no sign of AF either not had anything other than a few cramps. It's Driving me mad.

JRTfan · 09/04/2024 21:47

IVF so knew very early and zero symptoms until I started getting bigger..29 weeks now and all I have is occasional light headedness and heartburn (and a bump/movement obviously!) Was convinced there would be nothing there at 8 and 12 week scans!

mdinbc · 09/04/2024 21:51

OP, not everyone gets morning sickness. It's early days yet for you since you are only 6 weeks, but breast tenderness and a heavy feeling (not necessarily cramps) are common.

Congratulations.

Zippedydoodahday · 09/04/2024 21:52

Totally normal. You don't read about it that much because people are much more likely to post about horrid symptoms than no symptoms. But many women have easy healthy pregnancies. I had nothing except a bit of heartburn towards the very end.
