Failed medical abortion?

Hi, so I had a medical abortion 5 weeks ago now, all my tests had been very strong postive since even the test from the clinic. I didn't have any pain during the abortion but did heavy bleed for a few days then light peroid type bleeding for a few weeks. I did see clumps and lumps come out. When I first found out I was pregnant my clear blue said 3+ weeks (I was around 5 weeks pregnant) and now all my clear blues say 2-3 weeks still even tho it's been 5 weeks. My tests are not fading. I have rung up the clinic who has me in for a ultra sound on Friday, has anyone had experience of this? Is there a possibility I'm still pregnant or retained tissue?

Yes. This happened to me. I had a medical abortion with tablets, I thought the baby had passed. A few weeks later I was still feeling pregnant, positive tests and my belly was growing. I went back for another scan and I was around 14 weeks pregnant (I can't remember exactly how far gone). Basically, I was that far gone I had to go to London for a surgical operation to remove the baby as it was still alive and growing. They told me not to continue to pregnancy due to tablets etc I had taken during the medical procedure. I already had a 5 year old and a 2 year old at this point. I went to London and was put to sleep for a surgical procedure. During this I had a coil fitted to make sure this was never to happen again.

I went in for my follow up scan after 2 weeks of medical abortion. There was little bit of tissue retained, showed up on ultrasound. I had stopped bleeding after 10 days of taking the pills but starting bleeding again on 13th day. I was 6 weeks along when I took the pills.
Now my doctor has prescribed me Misoprostol again (2 tablets) and Methergin for 3 days.
Let's hope it clears up soon or I would have to go from D&C.
I've to travel after 10 days so fingers crossed. I just want this all to be over..it's been an emotionally and physically draining experience.
I don't know if I should walk around more to clear out the remaining tissue ...Any advice on this is welcome.
