36 weeks pregnant. Growth scan measuring 3 weeks bigger

My baby’s abdomen is measuring 3 weeks ahead (99th centile) however head is measuring below 50th centile and leg length is off the chart (big).

this was a private growth scan. I don’t have any pregnancy complications and have never been tested for gestational diabetes. My NHS growth scan 3 or 4 weeks ago showed average/slightly higher centile for the abdomen, head and femur length - done because I had reduced fetal movements. But nothing was above 80th centile at the time.

Should i be worried? The sonographer today just said very big, but didn’t advise this is abnormal.

I wouldn't panic, speak to your mw-dr and tell them your concerns. Someone has to have big babies the same as people have to have smaller babies. It is only a estimate. My first DD was nearly 10lb, they told me my second DD would be bigger, she was just over 9lb. My 2 DS they Said would likely need a c-sections as were gonna be really big, both under 8lb. This was all over 15 years ago so technology might of changed.

Growth scans are notoriously inaccurate. My second was 10lb9, but I measured “normally” all the way along (no growth scans). His head was off the charts but I still delivered vaginally with no pain relief (failed epidural). My friend was measuring big, scans showed baby would be over 10lb, the baby was under 8lb. You won’t know until baby is here and if no concern from MW I wouldn’t worry.
