When did I conceive?

Hey guys,

I am recently pregnant and I went for my first scan yesterday on the 4/4/2024. The doctor said I am 8 weeks and 3 days yesterday. Can someone please help me on when I would of had sex to conceive the baby?

How long are your cycles? Depending on how long they are depends on when you ovulate.

A typical 28 day cycle you normally ovulate on day 14, which would be roughly 6 weeks 3 days ago

Around the 19th February if you have a typical 28 day cycle and ovulate half way through your cycle.

Although dates on early scans can be a little off as well. Do you need to know to identify the father?

I'd guess around 20-23rd Feb depending on cycle length.

If you have a typical 28 day cycle, you would have ovulated around 19th February. but the dating can often change once you get to 12 week scan, as it's such tiny measurements early on.

Yes correct. 1st guy wore a condom and he did not finish and we had sex on 29th January. And the 2nd guy we have been having sex for half a year without a condom.

I guess I just want some reassurance that it's the 2nd guys.

You're looking at ovulation around the 23rd Feb then, so typically it would've been who you had sex with the week leading up to that date

I’d say much more likely the second person then. Especially as you have 31 day cycle.

Those dates (8weeks3days) are to a supposed last period date but based on the size of the embryo rather than your actual period. Obviously everyone ovulates different. So go back 6 weeks 3 days and that is your ovulation date. Again that can be out by several days because an early scan has measurement errors while it’s so small. Mine put me 3 days behind at a 9 week scan and I knew when I ovulated. So pinpointing it exactly is impossible, but a general estimate sure - 19th Feb then +/- a handful of days for the error in measurement.

I'd say it's very unlikely it's the 29th January man. But if your due date shifts earlier at the next scan (due to more accurate measurements), it could be possible. Still very unlikely
