hi guys :) my due date is Sunday and since 7:30 this evening i have been experiencing constant dull pains with the odd sharp one in both my lower abdominal and back alongside braxton hicks. when it first started i thought it may be trapped wind/needing to go to the toilet but it definitley isnt that....😅some people describe it as 'period' pain however im struggling to remember how a period feels its been so long lol😂

could this be the beginning of things? i always imagined the pains of early labour to be a wave like/come and go pain but this is more like a constant discomfort.

just wanted to hear everyone elses experience with early labour... how did you feel? how would you describe the pain? did it come and go or was it more constant at the beginning? i think ive read every mumsnet forum since 2008😂

It felt like period cramps and I lost my appetite and started feeling a bit sick. Initially I thought it was because I had had a milkshake earlier on (I was lactose intolerant), but realised I was in early labour when I started timing the pain and the break in between.

I lost my appetite and didn't want the dinner I'd made. I was feeling a bit nauseous and like an upset stomach was coming so just wanted a bath and early night. Getting out the bath my waters started leaking and the dull and crampy pains I thought were hunger from missing dinner was actually ds on his way at 34wk

They lasted about an hour before they started getting quite uncomfortable, and then 10ish hours after, I was in active labour. I think early labour can last a few days iirc, I was very lucky and had a fairly quick labour.

I just felt like I needed to wee 🤣
Honestly every two minutes it felt like I was going to wee myself and only a trickle came out when I tried.
Went to the hospital to get checked and I was 5 centimetres dilated.

Low backache

DanceMumTaxi · 05/04/2024 15:53

Lower back ache, just couldn’t get comfortable at all and it didn’t go off. But ds was back-to-back so it’ll probably be different if your baby is the right way round.

I was in latent labour for a few days. Just a dull ache low down and it was constant. Though I'd been like that for days it was still a shock to me when my waters broke🤣
