Just had my 28 week blood results. All the same as the earlier bloods I had except
FBC WCC has increased from 8.3 to 11.9. I'll see midwife next week to discuss results but just wondered if anyone knew if this is a cause for concern at all.

Your white blood cell count includes a lot of different cell types.

In non-pregnancy, a raised WCC might indicate an infection, caused by all increase in lymphocytes. But in pregnancy, all women experience an increase in WCC driven by a different cell type called neutrophils. I saw the same change in my blood test results and wondered what it meant too.

Looks from this paper like you are still well within the average range for pregnancy!

@Herpesvirologist ah thank you I tried googling but got a bit confused! Assumed it was fine but I've been feeling pretty rubbish with a virus so had a niggle their may be an infection or something.
