Bright Red Gush & Now brown spotting

Hi ,

first time pregnancy and am around 7 weeks. Started last night , no signs or lead up but a big gush of red blood. The bleeding didn’t last too long. No clots. Today just brown blood spotting when I wipe.

I have a scan soon but please anyone share their experiences , good or bad to help me ?

Im so scared.

I had several of these episodes from week 7-9. All ended up okay. I think just monitor and see if okay in the next hours/days. After each one I had a scan and they said that there are some new blood vessels visible on the scan and sometimes they explode and cause gushes of blood. If worried, just go have a private scan. I felt they helped me cope with the stresses.

I had the same thing happen at 8 weeks - a huge watery red gush then blood spotting that went on for weeks. It was terrifying. The doctors were very matter of fact, they said if it’s a miscarriage there’s nothing you can do, but lots of people bleed in pregnancy, just wait and see. My baby was fine though so please try and have some hope. fingers crossed for you x

I'm afraid only time will tell, but I had a big bleeds at 9 & 10 weeks and all was well. No cramping is a good sign.

I had this but very heavy bleeding. They did a scan and got a heart beat but was told not to be too hopeful.
He is a 6ft tall 13 year old now.

Unfortunately you will just have to wait and see.

It’s very scary , I hope tommorow goes okay for scan but just feel so emotional.

taking a few days off work sick until this is done.

I had this at 7 weeks and it was a subchorionic hematoma, I had a gush of red blood, and then brown discharge for over a week, I'm now 9+2 and so far so good.

So had scan Thursday , all good ! Heartbeat seen.

They couldn’t find the cause for bleed and still having light brown spotting since it happened , so 5/6 days ago.

still worried about the spotting . Is this normal ?

I had similar with a big bleed around then I had follow up little bleeds and spotting every now and again between 5 weeks and around 7/8 weeks. Currently 10+4 and haven’t bled in a little while now
glad your scan went well, hopefully the bleeding will stop soon! X
