Hi ive had period like cramps for around 10 hours straight. It’s not getting any worse but no better either. I haven’t had any bleeding. Not really got any pregnancy symptoms but midwife said it’s normal. she dipped my urine today and said looks like infection but will let me know in a couple of days. I don’t know if that can have anything to do with it. I suppose am I just anxious, as the pains are quite intense and moderate. She said not to worry until they take my breath away, but of course peoples pain threshold’s are different 🤔 Im 7 weeks today. Has anyone else experienced this with a happy ending? thank you x

Darl, the midwife said you have an infection.. there is answer!

Also, omg I had such bad cramps for what seems weeks with my pregnancy’s.

There is a lot going on on your uterus right now. Easy for me to say, I worried too massively!

It’s all good xx

yes, my midwife says UTI can cause the uterus to contract, hence the cramping you are feeling. It's good that you are on track to be treated for infection - please don't stress, all is likely to be well x

The night before/morning of my 12 week scan I had awful period cramps, was convinced I was losing the baby. I had had them on and off for the whole first trimester but they were really intense. All was fine. If there’s no bleeding that’s reassuring. It’s safe to take paracetamol as well.

I had severe cramping along with severe bleeding between weeks 7 and 11 . It soon settled and my pregnancy produced a now wild, curly haired 6yo, dimpled little girl. Pains and bleeding can be terrifying. You've dipped positive for a uti, this is most likely the cause for your cramping. I have to self catheterise due to a bladder issue and I get uti's SOOOOO much. They always cause pelvic discomfort and a cramping sensation and that's without a baby.

I’ve had cramping around 7/8 week and around 12/13 weeks - my midwife told me it’s common to have cramps around the time you would have had your period if not pregnant-like your body is checking!
