Just looking for some reassurance or similar stories please. I should be 8 weeks today (pretty positive of dates) and went for an early scan as I have been spotting on and off for 2 weeks now. Scan showed me as 6 weeks 4 and no heartbeat to be heard which she did say would be normal at anything under 7 weeks. They told me to prepare for a miscarriage but I have an appointment again in 2 weeks because I am away next week on holiday so can't go earlier. This will either confirm things or by some miracle show an increase in baby. Keeping fingers crossed. Still spotting brownish pink.

Keeping everything crossed for you. It’s the waiting that’s the worst thing, I really feel for you.

Oh dear you poor thing. Nothing you can do. What will be will be. Everything crossed for you.

I had a scan at 7 weeks and was measuring at 5 weeks with no foetal pole or heart beat detected. I had to wait another 2 weeks for the next scan which felt like a life time and in that time I was spotting and had filled my underwear with blood. I continued spotting for a few days and finally when the time for the scan came they say a tiny foetus with a heart beat measuring 7.5 weeks.

It can go either way and the not knowing is the hardest, I really empathise. I’ve had a few miscarriages before. In my experience of a miscarriage the bleeding got heavier over the course of a few days. With this viable pregnancy the spotting eased off and I started to feel a bit nauseous at around the 7 week mark but everyone is different.

Sending you all the luck in the world and positivity. Keep us updated.

Thanks for your reponse, I've had a few miscarriages between my last child and now and they have all gone the same. Heavy bleeding from the start and passed naturally. I have been spotting on and off since finding out but nothing bright red. Midwife said she can't diagnose anything until I get rescanned and she didn't say much about a heartbeat just kept saying that the size doesn't match up. My periods are usually regular but I'm not sure about my ovulation as the possible conception date would have been 16 days after my last period started. It's so confusing. I'm preparing for the worst but also would love to hold onto a tiny glimmer of hope.

I had this but with a slow heartbeat. I was positive of dates as I wouldn't have tested positive at the point I did if the baby was conceived later. I lost my baby two days after the scan. So sorry, but it doesn't look good.

I’m sorry OP, the waiting is the worst.
I am 7 or 8 weeks pregnant & have been having pink & brown spotting since Saturday. I have a scan at the EPU tomorrow. Also had a previous MMC.
Wishing you luck for your next scan- waiting is just agonising
