Hi all
I am 16w 2d pregnant and had diarrhoea and vomiting since Sunday. It seems to happen whenever I eat and the last 2 days I have felt super run down and not been able to work in bed bound feeling rubbish. I spoke to the doctor as I was worried of not having any food in my system and they told me it’s likely to be gastroenteritis. I just wondered if I’m ok to keep resting or if I should push to be seen? I’m really anxious as my last pregnancy resulting in a miscarriage (I was only 5w 3d) however I really don’t want to risk leaving anything that could cause harm to the baby. Maybe I am overreacting. Has anyone else experienced this in the 2nd trimester and all ok?

I believe bugs like that aren't generally dangerous for the fetus, only extra rough on you. Make sure you're resting all you can, try and take fluids little and often, and take care of yourself.

Hope you feel better in a few days xx

I'm going through the same thing at 22 weeks. My doc prescribed some medication but I felt better after hydrating and resting. It's okay if you don't eat much for a day, just try dry toast and have a lot of fluids so you don't pass out.

If you still feel dizzy/ out of breath etc then go to the er. I've been to the er for stomach bugs before pregnancy.

Please be careful about what you eat and where it's sourced/made.

I had the exact same at 14/15 weeks, it was horrible and quite scary but I'm 32 weeks now and everything is fine. Try your best to stay hydrated, I know it's hard but after a few days of no food and hardly any water I ended up horrendously constipated. Hope you feel loads better soon x
