Hi

I’m needing some advise as I don’t know what’s happening. I’m now 9 days late for my period and I’ve so far taken 3 tests since last Thursday and they’ve all been negative. I’m currently on cycle day 40. My cycles are usually very regular 28-31 days.
wirh my last pregnancy we were trying but I tested negative from when my period was due for around 2 weeks and wasn’t until about 2 weeks after I stopped testing that I got a positive as I tested again as I felt so ill. But surely this isn’t a common thing? Wirh my first pregnancy I tested a week late and there was no denying it was positive. I’m so confused

Hi OP, it depends when you ovulated. Do you know when that was? Some people, especially when they have longer cycles, ovulate later in the cycle and so it takes longer to get the positive result. Certain illnesses & medications can also delay ovulation for that month and the later you ovulate, the later fertilisation & implantation happens, the later you get your positive x

thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I have no idea when I ovulated. I’m not on any medication etc, I don’t use hormone contraceptives either (we use pull out) which has been effective for the last 4 years. My periods do tend to run like clockwork. I was getting a lot of negative tests when I was pregnant with my second child. (My doctor said I probably ovulated later that month) so it’s a possibility I’m just late. I have a FRER left so I will take that tomorrow with FMU if my period still doesn’t arrive
