I was told by my midwife best avoid eating milkshakes and soft ice cream like mcflurrys due to listeria risk from the machines ( have a friend who did pick up listeria a few years ago )
I'm wondering does this also apply to drinks machines diet coke Fanta ect? They are also coming from a nozzle or is it just Milk based products that are higher risk .

My understanding is that the whippy/ milkshake type machines are potentially risky.
never heard anything about the Fanta etc but if worried you could just buy a sealed bottle or can separately from elsewhere?

All soft drinks are full of chemical crap, especially diet versions

Mcflurry ice cream and shakes are fine to have as the machines go through automatic cleaning cycles that prevent them from being contaminated with listeria. The nhs doesn't warn against eating them. Drinks machines are fine too.

On further reading it is correct as pp have said the main nhs website does not warn against Mcflurries and milkshake.
However I have found mention of whippy ice cream on several nhs Trust websites (screenshot below)
up to you really - I’d probably avoid a random ice cream van but McDonalds have clear cleaning schedules
