Hey!

Appreciate everything I probably watch read and watch will go out the window once baby is here but im a first time mum to be with no experience of babies.

Any book recommendations that can help prepare me even if it's just a little? Just sharing experience or tips doesn't have to be like a "how to guide"

Thanks x

The Positive Birth Book - for a good way to start looking at different types of births.
Your Baby Week by Week - would recommend this to everyone as it just gives you an idea of what to expect each week as when you might see a smile or how many hours they typically sleep at each stage etc.
I also read Keep Calm The New Mums Manual - I read this when baby was a few weeks old and I was still in a complete fog so I honestly couldn’t tell you how it helped me, but I remember finding it really helpful at that time to give me confidence in my abilities.
Maybe also listen to a podcast like Happy Mum Happy Baby as there’s soooo many episode which will give people’s experiences of different births and postpartum.

Not a parenting book, but I saw a book called Warm Like Summer which I think is little poems.

Matrescence by Lucy Jones. It’s not a how to book. It’s all about becoming a mother, physical changes, emotional, hormonal. It’s wonderful.

I found Babycalming by Caroline Deacon incredibly reassuring and helpful.
