Pregnancy after taking morning after pill

I have just found out I’m pregnant according to calculator (3 weeks 6 days) so still very early due on my period this weekend.
I took the morning after pill but was during my ovulation window so had a feeling it may not work.

We have decided to keep the baby and go ahead with the pregnancy but I now can’t help but worry have I done any damage by taking the morning after pill? Will I now have an ectopic pregnancy, or does anyone know if there are any side effects now I’m pregnant?

thanks so much for any advice/experiences which are similar x

No the morning after pill doesn’t mean ectopic.
A quick google tells me no, it won’t harm your pregnancy:

the morning after pill delays ovulation - if you have already ovulated before you take the morning after pill, it won't work. It also does not end a pregnancy if the egg has already been fertilised. The morning after pill is not an abortion pill and will not harm an existing pregnancy

contact your gp and ask to speak to the community midwife or seek advice from your early pregnancy assessment unit in your local hospital if you’re still concerned.

This was me, exactly this time last year x

I also had a bleed and pain at 6 weeks..... suspected eptopic pregnancy. The doctor thought maybe this could have been a result of the MAP... as they don't 100 know. I took two doses because I'm over 70Kg.

Anyway, I'm led here in my room with a beautiful and perfectly healthy 18 week old baby girl.

She's been the most perfect blessing 💓

Same thing happened to me 10 years ago... I had twins! Best thing that could've happened. I also worried about the effect of the MAP, but they were both very healthy babies (6lb and 7lb). Congratulations on your pregnancy 😊

Thank you ladies! I’ve just read so many stories about people going on to have miscarriages or ectopics it’s made my anxiety awful! We’ve completely done a 360 and are really excited for this pregnancy and would be devestated if anything happened 😫

Congratulations 💐

Ds is 20 and fit as a butcher's dog. He was the healthiest child you could imagine. Now at University. Took the MAP all those years ago.

@Mered12 my eldest was born after a MAP fail 23 years ago and he is the healthiest liveliest and loveliest boy we could have asked for. He was the only boy and we've since had seven girls, we joke that's why it didn't work, as our only shot at a boy child!!
