Hi can anyone please recommend a decent heartbeat Doppler preferably with headphones. I'm the Uk , the one I bought from eBay keeps cutting out and I bought it cheaply but I want a decent one now.
Thankyou xx

They are not recommended for use by non clinicians. As they can lead to false reassurance. If you are not experienced at listening for babies heartbeat. They are a really bad idea.

What @Toddlerteaplease said.
They are absolutely not recommended.

And also, even if you do find the heart beat, you can't interpret what you are actually hearing.

Please don’t get one. I seriously considered one when I was pregnant with my first but after researching I realised best not to. You’re not medically trained (assuming) so you will have no idea whether what you’re listening to is the fetal heartbeat, or the placenta. And you won’t know if what you’re listening to is normal.

I read of a really sad case of a woman who felt something wasn’t right, used an at home Doppler and decided all was fine. She went to the hospital the following day and the baby had died - she had been listening to the placenta and not the baby.

I know you want reassurance throughout your pregnancy, but this isn’t the way to do it.

No.

The tech is useless without the training.

I tried loads in my first pregnancy. Absolutely useless. Could hear very similar "heartbeat" noises from my husbands tummy.

Waste of time, and potentially dangerous.

I understand all that. And aware of everything.
