Hoping someone can suggest somewhere I’ve not already looked for a dress to wear to a wedding in a couple of weeks time. I’ll be around 34 weeks but I’m a size 8 and I don’t have a huge bump so the wrap styles and floaty options tend to be quite unflattering and just make me look bigger rather than necessarily pregnant. I’ve tried my usual options without success (silkfred, asos, new look, next, even seraphine though I don’t want to spend a fortune when I’m probably only going to wear it once). Any other ideas?

I’m not sure about the colour as it’s not a colour that would suit me but I think the style is lovely.

@Anne4678 ooh I like this - definitely one to try. Thank you!

I bought a monsoon maxi dress when I was pregnant, shirred top so it could stretch over my big boobs. I’m also a size 8 and found maternity wear too big until the final week or two of pregnancy.

ASOS have a lot of maternity dresses on their website. Search on maternity wedding guest dresses. It brought up 200 when I just looked.

DialSquare · 22/03/2024 09:12

This is pretty

edited to say that I didn’t check the size. This is sold out in your size.

The seraphine one they also do in a pink on their website- I was toying with ordering it even though I don't need it 🤣. I would suggest seraphine for the fact you can wear now and after pregnancy (and often for feeding). Often you can find bargains on Vinted.

Vinted!

Sophie3003 · 22/03/2024 09:30

I also second club L, I have a dress of theirs and super stretchy- got it from Vinted

RobynC28 · 22/03/2024 10:56

Following. If everything works out I'll have 3 weddings to go to at 7/8 months plus hen dos!

Katrinawaves · 22/03/2024 11:00

Isabella Oliver might also be with looking at on Vinted or EBay?

Foxtrotbeta · 22/03/2024 12:10

Hope & Ivy do a nice range, not so many on the current website but loads on vinted.

Couggstar123 · 22/03/2024 12:54

I second Hope & Ivy! Also really like Stylecheat and again you get heaps of their dresses on Vinted!

OopsieeDaisy · 22/03/2024 13:06

Thanks everyone - some good ones here to look at!

@DSD9472 I’m not keen on red and don’t always suit pinks but apart from that I’m not too fussy on colour! I’m not entirely sure on how formal the wedding will be, I think more towards casual rather than super formal but still dressy. Looks like Jojo have a lot of options though, I’ll have a look through 😊

Do not order anything from ChiChi- Total con artists. Have a look at their trust pilot.

yes but you get them off Vinted or second hand
but still good quality - good choices for maternity

Brieandbeetroot · 22/03/2024 14:12

Do you need a maternity dress? If you're small with a small bump, you could buy something you like but possibly midi length so that if the bump lifts it it will still be long enough, then you can wear it again when not pregnant.

Or a maxi skirt that you can wear with the waistband above your bump with a nice top.

These are all things I've done during previous pregnancy and will do again at a wedding during current pregnancy. If you just have bigger boobs and bump then there are lots of non maternity styles you might be able to make work.

bouncydog · 22/03/2024 20:31

DD found that all of the maternity dresses looked dreadful - for a wedding she found a fabulous dress in a Jersey fabric at Monsoon that actually fitted her and framed her bump rather than a shapeless gathered tent! She completed with fabulous accessories including flat jewelled sandals! Many of the brands are, IMHO, ridiculously overpriced for the quality. My view is choose a brand that you normally buy and see what is available in stretch fabric and, if necessary, go up a size or two to cater for larger boobs and expanding waistline!

Blueink · 30/03/2024 00:53

I do think the Seraphine dresses are amazing - have you tried any on OP? Felt extremely good in one I wore at a wedding around 5 months (fabrics are lovely and hang really well). If you pick something you will really enjoy wearing and will wear on other occasions, I still think it is worth it.

OopsieeDaisy · 30/03/2024 11:43

@Blueink I wore a wrap dress from seraphine to a wedding when I was heavily pregnant with DC1 and it’s a nice dress but not overly flattering on me for some reason and I really didn’t like it in the photos. Perhaps I should look at some of their other styles.

Ahh yes, I didn’t wear a wrap dress - there are lots of other styles, not sure which you might prefer, so linking the dresses here… If you want to maximise wear and intend to breast feed some of suitable for both and could give you more value?
